Mr. Bryk became Of
Counsel to the firm in 1998. He has been engaged in
the general practice of law in Connecticut since
1974. His experience includes general commercial
litigation, real property foreclosures, and the
representation of investors in bulk purchases of tax
liens from Connecticut municipalities, a varied real
estate practice, and service as general counsel to a
select group of Connecticut businesses.
Mr. Bryk's
representation of clients in the acquisition of
municipal tax liens involves the negotiation and
transaction of contracts and lien assignments, as
well as coordination with Town officials. Tax and
lending statutes, loan workout, foreclosure and real
estate transactional work are involved in these
complicated transactions.
Mr. Bryk's real estate
practice includes the representation of title
insurance companies, the acquisition, development
and sale of commercial and industrial properties,
the acquisition and leasing of gasoline service
stations, and residential real estate transactions.
In commercial
litigation, Mr. Bryk has represented suppliers of
industrial and commercial heating supplies and
equipment, suppliers of building materials,
municipal and private construction contractors and
bulk fuel suppliers, and municipalities and real
estate lenders in foreclosure actions.
Long active in the organized bar, Mr.
Bryk is a past President of the Greater Bridgeport
Bar Association, in which he also held numerous
offices and chairmanships and served on the Board of
Directors from1986 to 2001. He has also been a
member of the Professional Ethics and Commercial Law
Sections of the Connecticut Bar Association and
served on the Council of Bar Presidents in
1997-1998.
