Mr. Scofield joined the firm in 1986 and has established a successful practice concentrating primarily in commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation. Representative cases include an antitrust claim stemming from a hostile corporate takeover, a dispute involving television syndication contracts, obtaining injunctions against trademark infringement, false advertising, and the violation of restrictive covenants, and a number of complex patent cases.

Mr. Scofield has also litigated a wide range of other civil matters, including multi-million dollar foreclosure and bankruptcy cases, disputes between commercial landlords and tenants, fraud claims, business torts, sophisticated probate disputes, and the defense of product liability claims.

Mr. Scofield is listed in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Commercial Litigation and to the 2010 list of Connecticut Super Lawyers in the area of Business Litigation.
