Mr. Cooper devotes his entire practice to representing clients in a variety of personal injury matters, including automobile accidents, industrial accidents, construction accidents, railroad accidents, slips and falls, and sexual and physical assaults. Mr. Cooper also handles complex medical malpractice and product liability cases and successfully has pursued medical negligence claims involving general surgery, thoracic surgery, internal medicine, oncology, orthopedics, as well as related claims against hospitals and nursing homes and product liability claims against medical device manufacturers.
Mr. Cooper handles client matters involving devastating catastrophic injury and wrongful death, as well as claims involving less severe or “soft-tissue” type injuries. He also has extensive experience in personal injury cases against municipalities and their school boards, police departments and departments of public works.
Mr. Cooper has obtained many substantial verdicts and pre-trial settlements on behalf of the firm's clients, several of which have exceeded one million dollars. Mr. Cooper has tried more than 20 civil cases to verdict, many involving “soft-tissue” injury claims that resulted in awards well in excess of pre-trial offers from the defendant's insurance carriers.

- Mr. Cooper recently concluded a complex medical malpractice case arising from multiple esophageal surgeries that resulted in a chronic esophagopulmonary fistulae (an unclosable hole between the plaintiff’s esophagus and lung). After concluding favorable settlements with two surgeons, Mr. Cooper proceeded to trial against a local hospital that adamantly denied any wrongdoing. Following three days of evidence, Mr. Cooper obtained a six-figure settlement from the hospital, bringing the total recovery for our client to well in excess of $1 million.
- Mr. Cooper settled a case for approximately $1.1 million on behalf of a railroad engineer who, while in the course of his employment, sustained a foot fracture requiring multiple surgeries.
- Mr. Cooper obtained a confidential settlement well in excess of $500,000 in a wrongful death case on behalf of the estate of a woman killed after being rear-ended by a tractor-trailer truck on I-95.
- Mr. Cooper represented the family of a 20 year-old man who died in a car accident caused by an underage patron of two taverns, achieving a settlement in excess of $400,000.
- Mr. Cooper negotiated a settlement of approximately $400,000 in a product liability action against a foreign orthopedic medical device manufacturer whose artificial hip joint failed twice in a period of approximately 13 months.
- In a motor vehicle case involving a “soft-tissue” neck injury from a rear-end collision, Mr. Cooper obtained a judgment after jury trial in excess of $70,000 where the insurance company's final offer was $12,500.
- In a motor vehicle case involving “soft-tissue” neck and back injuries, Mr. Cooper obtained a judgment after jury trial in excess of $122,000.
- In a case involving a “soft-tissue” knee injury and a defendant denying liability, Mr. Cooper obtained a judgment after jury trial in excess of $90,000.
- Mr. Cooper negotiated a settlement of $300,000 on behalf of a painter who suffered injuries to his dominant arm requiring surgery as a result of a motor vehicle accident in a parking lot.
- In a minor impact motor vehicle collision for a client with a preexisting low back injury that resulted in surgery, Mr. Cooper successfully negotiated a settlement for just under $300,000.
